Starfish Project

The Starfish Parable

One day, an old man was walking along a beach that was littered with thousands of starfish that had been washed ashore by the high tide. As he walked he came upon a young boy who was eagerly throwing the starfish back into the ocean, one by one.

Puzzled, the man looked at the boy and asked what he was doing. Without looking up from his task, the boy simply replied, “I’m saving these starfish, Sir”.

The old man chuckled aloud, “Son, there are thousands of starfish and only one of you. What difference can you make?”

The boy picked up a starfish, gently tossed it into the water and turning to the man, said,

“I made a difference to that one!”

With all the uncertainty and craziness in our broken world, I’m so grateful for opportunities to partner with companies that do good, give back & help others.  Starfish Project is a non-profit organization that cares for women coming out of human trafficking and exploitation.  They help exploited women experience freedom, establish independence and develop careers.  Currently they’ve employed over 125 women and served thousands more through their community outreach program.  You can read more about their story here.

100% of your Starfish Project purchase is reinvented into the mission of restoring hope to exploited women and girls.  For example, the Lydie Turquoise & Orange Necklace is equal to the cost of 1 week of vocational training for one woman and the Layla-Gold Cross Bar is equal to the cost of 1 week of counseling.

Their entire fall collection is seriously gorgeous.  Some of my favorites are the Lawson Pendant Necklace (I mean who isn’t in love with marble right now?!) and the Vera Fringe Earrings.  I’m super into layering necklaces, so I love the Lena Natural Arrow Necklace or the  Sane-Gold Necklace paired with their dainty bar necklaces.

So go ahead!  Get an item for yourself, your mom, a co-worker, or anyone who could use a little something beautiful to brighten their day!  Their bracelets would make perfect stocking stuffers and (spoiler alert to my family) this is what I’m giving all my sisters for Christmas this year!  I hope you will join me in supporting this mission of freedom!

Thanks so much for reading!
